My name is Nóra Brettschneider and I’m a freelance conference interpreter based in Berlin and Budapest.
The love of languages has always been with me – English and German were already part of my life as early as secondary school and learning languages has always been a pleasure. Language knowledge not only means to me that I can understand people with different culture and background, but it’s part of my identity that I speak foreign languages. Therefore, I had no doubts that I would like to work with languages. I knew that I would like to become an interpreter and I imagined that one day I would be fluently speaking English and German so I can help people cross the language barriers and obstacles by supporting them with my experience and work. I graduated from Eötvös Loránd University completing the English and American Studies BA in 2016, then I continued my studies in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at ELTE where I acquired my MA degree in Interpreting and Translating in 2018. After that, I completed the European Masters in Conference Interpreting EU-accredited programme in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at ELTE with Hungarian (A), English (B) and German (C) language combination…
